I am High on Boring Books

Has anyone gone high without drinks

Or without any kind of smoke

Or without any kind of addiction

Has anyone gone nuts

Just staring fervently at a book

Without anything else to look

Has anyone gone seriously insane

Reading something completely uninteresting

And just seated there while doing that

I guess I have those problems

And I guess I know all the symptoms

And the outcomes are severe

Just give me a solution

To this mind-boggling problem

And please Help Me With My Agony

Through questions and ponderings, you provoke thoughts that sing! I do have books that bring me peace, or joy, or other deep emotions, and it's a thrill to know books can still do that. Poetry can too!
