A Text Message Made Me Smile

The title will tell you about what the rest of the poem is about.

I just received a message from a friend

Apparently she was my most recent friend

We became good friends quiet fast

And it seemed like it would last

Special was that friendship

Luckily for me, it wasn't like a sinking ship

Her message warmed my heart

It was just like a beautiful piece of art

It read that I helped make her day

And that just made my day

I didn't know how

But now I am feeling like wow

I just made a friend smile

And now I can't wipe out my smile

i had a sense that you were just forcing it to rhyme in some parts. and avoid cliches :) make more abstract and obvious descriptions, something that would make people think "why didn't i think of that, darn it". haha
