Wild Me, Once More

Wild Me, Once More

A Poem by David Scott

No longer does this heart
beat wild, although 'tis free
to be, patiently ready...
'pon my mistress's proud return,
ridden at her behest once more
to vanquish doubt and languish not
in the consequence of victories
lost within passion's battlefield ~

Chaste yet sexy, all at once. Subtle way to wave your flag.:)

Thank you for the comment KL. Somehow, I doubt I am ever really all that subtle. ha.
First of all, I love your title, which drew me into reading your poem. Your message wasn't what I was expecting, but such is life, when it comes to silly expectations. I am getting that there's been a passionate but divisive tussle between lovers & the narrator is longing for some make-up sex *smile* (kidding!) Really, tho, I feel your message is universal, about love not always having the wildish feelings we sometimes miss in the hassles of everyday living. Thanks for sharing!

I enjoyed the poem. I liked the use of the language and the thoughts/visions create by the good description. Wild heart does fade with time when heart become less dim. Thank you David for sharing the excellent poetry.

We can hope and you are welcome.
Kind of has me singing "Love is a battlefield" in my head but I don't sound anything like Pat Benatar. Looking forward to winning that war and rejoicing in the rewards, sometimes makes it all worthwhile. Great poem David.

Good to see you here again. I've been a bit "out of season" lately. Thank you for the comment.
Not only does this show the beauty of love but the art of love...as love is...magnificent :)

Perhaps not wild, but still filled with passionate thoughts. I liked the old English you used in this one. Good work. Lydi**

Thank you Lydi. It was a moment of thought I received after conversing with a muse...
All we can do is be ready and able to capture fair maiden's heart, when she is ready to let us know we may be up to the challenge. Previous battles and plans count for nought, as each heart has a different battle to win. Sometimes, we do enough to allow further participation, the battle to keep that participation continues always.
Wonderfully expressed piece David.
