Knowing Oneness

Knowing Oneness

A Poem by David Scott

The passion of us
contrasting the nakedness
of you or me if left alone,
absent of I, we become one
clothed glamorously
in sensual surrender

Giving...
we invest fully in us
receiving each other's all
within unguarded fields,
a sacred orchard
where grows the fruit of oneness

Time juices life
into a complex wine,
hinting sweet laughter
peppered with overtones of desire
bathed in the fermentation of reality,
as sadness desolves
beneath seduction's horizon
satisfied with love's giddy inebriation

Oh, and you are taken
as am I
beyond...
yet grounded,
a planted union
saturated in the wetted
appetite of our knowing

Oneness in the union of another :D oh to reach those heights, breathe and stay a while. For yes it is there oh ... sweet thereness ... where souls combine .... this reality ceases to exist in a whirlwind of nowness ... ahhh yes to satiate the senses and endeavour to prolong the journey to the zenith before the rippling release ...

lovely words ....

Thank you for the very elegant comment. I like to review this way myself from time to time. Just l.. read more
absent of I, we become one.... That line alone was worth the admission price alone David. This is beautiful and sensual, without the cloying, syrupy nature that some writers who have been hit on the head with a hallmark card usually deviate into, myself included on occasion. Perfect last line to tie everything up, yet leaves the door just open enough to glimpse the lives that carry on after the poems end. Love it.

love wine, Yes!
You are each other's carnal instruments, making one music, transported, crescendoing, igniting-
then "saturated in the wetted appetite of knowing"
... you fall apart but the oneness remains

Gorgeous writing

I "feels" very authentic...I think you are in love, or married to your soul mate.

There is a oneness in being complete in a singular "soul" weaving in and out of various dimensions of learning for its' own purpose. It enters alone and it leaves alone. Consciousness experiencing an endless array of possibilities. Living is a dream. Then there is the oneness of being complete together, plural, "heart" sharing love, being the story and feeling it come to life, a spirit of awakening. A sensation of pleasure that keeps all of it enduring. Coming back for more climatic experiencing. Love isn't hope, we are. Love is an action and we are the actors bringing it to life. In it's deepest richest form, it is a baptism in the holy ghost of the pure energy of consciousness...IMO :) I love where your words take me and how easy it is to go there within the sensational passion of which they are expressed.

You are welcome .... Jazz :)
there is a lot of passion in this absorbing write...but the most important ingredient is "us."

that is what gives depth and grounding to a relationship...when it is "we" and not "i", there is longevity and strength...

We understand each other well Jacob. Thank you for the kind words.
Time may drain us of many things and there is not much we can do about it, but passion only leaves if we allow it to leave. It is a two way street though I believe, but if both lanes are constantly moving in the same direction, the destination can be as much fun as it is endless. Your poem is beautifully written and it is easy to tell it has come from someplace deep.

Thank you for the review. I enjoyed your response. Yes, from a place of internal truth.
A majestic write of truth and right direction. The path of oneness, more spiritual than the mere physical, has been the ultimate goal of the enlightened and the experienced sages. It is attainable in the investment of surrender and true union of us and the whole. An excellent write with so many wonderful dimensions...:).........
