Puzzle

Puzzle

A Poem by David Scott

Spread upon the table

of all that is now,

sifting through rainbow memories

chopped into pieces

by reality,

I do not have the heart

to connect  the puzzle

into picture perfect

clarity.

What clarity is needed is we are happily being in the now?

All that we have is in this moment ... And the next ... And the next ... And the next ... May as well just lie back and enjoy the offerings of 'this life' ... Puzzles hurt my head at times ☺️

Honesty can be a hard thing, especially if you know what you are gonna say is going to hurt a loved one. But as it is written "You got to be true to be kind"

I agree, it's better to just leave it be in most cases, or it will just drive you crazy. Awesome piece :)

Some things are too painful. I, however, will go there. I don't know about "perfect picture" but I will
try to UNDERSTAND what happened then move on. Hopefully I can do that. Maybe heartache will make
you want to stop. Not me, I went ahead and tried to figure that out as well. I am glad I did now I understand what happened. Or, what I think happened. Either way I am happier knowing.
That is just me. I know people who want to bury the pain and do. I think it keeps trying to
communicate with you to reason it out. Just my thinking...

Sometimes we don't have the heart to piece the bigger picture together because we know we will find it difficult accepting what we'll see

Indeed Josia. Life is full of moments we will find confounding.
twas a perfect picture once but now over lies in pieces, the jigsaw of life's loves lies scattered.

only if the last piece fits!!! if one is missing!!! hmmh! Great poem!
Clouded memories of the past. We remember, but oh so faint. Almost gives a headache to bring some of those old memories back. Nice work.

Yes Will, it does... Thank you for reading and understanding.
really like the analogy to the jigsaw puzzle...and when it comes to the heart, there are certain puzzles we would rather not solve...the picture might just hurt too much when it is put together.

all those jagged memories...pieces of past loves.

You got it Jacob! Thank you for stopping in. It is always a pleasure to see your comments.
And what is that that the puzzle would reveal; what is lying among the scrambled puzzle pieces that your heart would just as well have remained scrambled?
