I Remember

I Remember

A Poem by David Scott
"

Have you ever met someone your soul already knew?

"
Your smile was a memory
for I had dreamed your laughter
when I was younger,
during an age of innocence.

Your scent has haunted me
before proximity confirmed
imagination was a prophecy
fragrant with seduction.

Never knowing the scar,
my lips found the flawless blemish
where hips curve toward sculpted bliss,
kissing a birthright claimed.

Readiness mirrored with need,
a lifetime of patience
breaking passion's chrysalis,
heavens pierced by destiny's wing.

The sway of your hips
reminding my old soul
transcendence had to wait
'till you raptured me to paradise.

I remember.

When you meet "that" person...the one who has lived in your fantasies since the beginning of time and whose laughter has brightened your life forever, well, then it is real and you never forget. Powerfully romantic. Lydi**

Favorite lines. You have caught that deja vu, the random nostalgia everyone has felt at least once. Great write

I really enjoyed reading this. Your choice of words is well thought, like exquisite and the topic you write about is dth I have often mused about. I think I'm really into the first stanza and the very last line of your poem. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Mimi. Glad you enjoyed the poem.
Some meetings are like that, an instantaneous knowing, it's enough to make you believe in past lives unless you've experienced it. It's like the soul waits patiently for its mate to reappear and recognized despite the form.
You did a wonderful job creating this piece with a heart connection that makes it all the more sensual and satisfying.

Thank you for the comment Dale. It's cool to get those little surprises in life.
The phrase, "Where have you been all of my life?" comes to mind. There are those we meet who we feel so comfortable with, maybe even falling in love with, that we feel we have known forever or it was meant to be. That is a wonderful feeling. Really great writing David.
