Relaxing

Relaxing

A Poem by David Scott
"

The art of relaxation is a true gift and one we seldom achieve or admonish. Self love and acceptance must precede any calm.

"
Relaxing

Yes...
my consciousness sighs
a silent whisper,
ignited I begin
dreaming...
beyond the nightmare.

Methodologies of meditations
intentionally seeking
finding a nothingness where
despair suffocates...
breathing in hope,
exhaling acceptance.

Feeling the escape
a calling howls,
once within a cage of fear
imprisoned,
now reborn wild ~
viscerally deep...
pure.

To be ~
a living sacrifice
honorably being,
rather than becoming...
striving in a current of
rapidly foaming expectations
birthed in a spring
of perception's needs.

Transparently truth ~
radiant imperfections included
within a crystallized resolve...
a desolation I once knew
as myself becoming,
now a shaped definition
resting within
unconditional love.

Yes it is a gift and I can teach it and I can practice it. But living it seems to be outside the realm of what my brain believes it should have to do..

Excellent piece that makes one think, but for me it's just a reminder of a place I spend searching for.

In repose now and in the dark, breathing deeply now as I gently release the air and repeat as thoughts take me deep to a place...............................and my mind says, hey lets write another piece.

Welcome! Have a nice day
Aloha,

I find it hard to relax, really as I can't help but think of my seemingly endless to-do list...

I love the thought, though; in this well written piece and am working toward that objective.

Greatly said.
Oh yes, you are 100% on target, David. We have to accept ourselves for who we are and be "okay" with that in order to relax and enjoy life. We have to love ourselves before we can truly love someone else. Beautifully written. Lydi**

Awesome! Glad you were able to relax a moment. Thank you for the review.
Relaxation really is an art, that's different than being lazy and zoning out with the TV. You described meditation to me; with the breath lines. There is something powerful about just being with our higher selves. There is no greater coping skill. And true relaxation like you described here fights all kinds of disease. Lovely poem~

You have captured perfectly the art of relaxation. One which we need more than ever in a constant world filled with ever increasing anxiety and rush.
Wonderfully penned.
