Reflections of Jesicca

Reflections of Jesicca

A Poem by David Scott
"

One of my long term employees is getting married this month. I wrote this today for her wedding shower at work. I think it describes her well.

"

Reflections of Jessica.

Like a willow,

Flourishing at the pond’s edge,

She bends, graceful maturity,

Dancing flickering green shadows,

Glistening silver promises,

 Of wind rippled time.

The world around her picnics,

Happily playful to be near,

Comforted by her shade,

A steadfast figure of feminine,

Loyal in friendship and obligations,

Mothering the next generation.

She is promised now to flourish,

Transplanting her beauty,

Trusting to be husbanded,

Within a garden she was born to know,

Whispering faith into a quiet wind,

Loved ones smile as they gather in her joy.

dear David... a weeping willow is a perfect venue to describe a young woman who is entering into a world of nurturing a family.
I love the gentleness and beauty to describe her vulnerability. truly, Pat

Very beautiful, not to mention poetic gift...lovely.
Oh, boy, she must have loved this! I've long thought of trees having human attributes, (only the good ones) and posing her as a willow in this way works very well. You are quite the poet.
