Thoughts of a Cloud

Thoughts of a Cloud

A Poem by David Scott
"

It is a cloudy grey day and I felt like channeling a cloud... or maybe letting a cloud channel me...

"

Thoughts of a Cloud

I am there

in the glimmering morning

the weight of dreamless nights

burning away in the warmth

of your love

a Smokey Mountain mist.

Between your eye and a faint yellow glow

I live

an ever transforming landscape

floating beyond reason

until your imagination gives me form.

Billowing pillows of cotton like softness

sweet as cream

whipped and layered

upon the tartness of your tongue

I wait to be tasted

A chill pushes me upward

mushrooming thunderheads rumble

electric in proximity to you

I become a downpour

quenching a lusting thirst

I am still here

a grey sheeted greenhouse

humidity, glued to the tree tops

longing to ascend to the heavens

embraced in the warmth of you

My love for you will show

look up… look out upon the painted sky

I live in the blue eyes of a clear sky

refracted in all the colors

condensed within your dreams

Such beauty and mystery is found in a cloud, and you have captured sure elegance here through your beautiful words. Lovely work, Scott. Definitely another favorite.

Thank you for the comment and for giving your time to read and review.
I knew i shouldn't have ventured into your writing this evening because i knew it's elegant beauty would wrap me up in a lovely fog of emotion that i would get lost in... and here i sit... unable to see anything but the mist of your words...

How did a cloud ever get so romantic and intellectual? :) This is fantastic, David! I'll never look at clouds the same way again. This is one of my favorite of yours.

This is an incredible piece...I have always been fond of weather imagery and the changing of seasons, and I was sufficiently knocked out by the way you worked those images to perfection here. I was originally going to say that the second stanza was my favourite, but I really can't pick a stanza let alone a line or two. Definitely one of my favourites from your catalogue, if not number one. Awesome work David :)

What beautiful imagery David. I couldn't help but think of the word for sky in French it is ciel and it also can mean heaven. This is a heavenly poem with soft imagery punctuated by storms and rain that melt into the mist for it is written.

Thank you Blue. This was my overriding feeling today... I needed to get it down.
i am the cloud, you are my earth...i will cover you, quench your thirst for love, give you a rainbow...

be your cirrus your cumulus....your rainy day friend and your puff of magic in a halcyon sky.

i am in your dreams floating with you.

Thank you KL.
Reading this makes me think of the simple things in nature we overlook and therefore miss out on there beauty.
