Blue Moon Magic

Regal...

her unicorn stands

 upon the wind-etched dunes

sea oats dancing

 around impatient hooves,

sensitive ears tuned in

to the song of the wind and waves,

alert eyes reflecting

 shimmering blue moonlight;

the tide is moving out…

Patient...

his mermaid hovers

floating within the stillness of the cooling tide pool,

hermit crabs scurry

anemones sway

 beneath her moon bright shadow,

gooseflesh rises,

 sensitive with anticipation

knowing without seeing

 feeling without touching

she waits…

The blue moon is high…

precious and painful

time stands between them.

Abandoning his pride

 he gallops toward her,

approach is felt

reverberating

 across the sandy expanse,

need is frothing

flared nostrils

feeding her scent to his heart,

the retreating tide bares all…

Rising...

 she turns the world

 to face her lover,

transformation binds a spell,

her fathomless, bejeweled gaze

 fixes his being to hers,

light touch captures

two immortal souls

fully human,

truly one within

this mystic moment...

Oceanic…

urgency washes their frantic bliss,

salty kisses tie

fated couple's longing,

intensity has risen to the starry heavens.

Weakness smothers

as they tumble back to earth;

waves crashing

a faint echoing of their surrender.

Rushing…

the tide rises,

western dunes corral the blue moon,

 eastern sky is gaining light

across the rolling seas.

Drifting out of his arms

the mermaid accepts

impatient waves,

a prancing unicorn

relentlessly pushed

 toward the lonely dunes.

The spell is broken…

The tide rises…

western dunes corral the blue moon,

the sky is gaining light

across the rolling seas.

Drifting out of his arms

the mermaid accepts the rising tide,

Impatient waves

push a prancing unicorn

 toward the lonely dunes.

The spell is broken…

Repost... Sorry.
It is one of my favorites though.
Thank you for reading.
David, this really touched me today. This was beauiful and whimsical and the love, the pure desire just pours from this page and coats me in shimmering wonder. Oh how I would love to be there, to feel this moment, to know this absolute bliss...if even for this short time until the tides return her to her home. Sir, wave that wand, nothing up your sleeve...you have just performed magic. Wonderful my friend.
