Everyone is encouraged to sort their rubbish into separate piles, collect paper and cardboard, use bottle banks, pay carbon tax and generally accept being harassed into using things like non toxic, recycled toilet paper made from elephant s**t and barbed wire. Yet if any of your electrical kit goes tits up, we’re told that’s it " it can’t be fixed " throw it away and get a new one. Who remembers when your telly used to last 15 or 20 years and a good radio was with you for life as was your wristwatch? You can't even put a new battery in an Ipod. Over the years I’ve bought countless printers for work use, and not the cheap sort either, often the best I could get so that they would go the distance. Only then to find that when I had to swap out the PC, the new Operating System didn’t support that printer, or the ink cartridges are no longer made. No way back, no alternative other than to simply throw away a perfectly good piece of kit and buy a new one, again. Hundreds of thousands of tons of still functional, or easily repaired kit, is binned every year in Europe alone and millions worldwide. Mountains of plastic ink cartridges are deliberately built to hold the same amount of ink as a gnats bladder, and chipped so that they cannot be reliably refilled. This actually means that very often it is cheaper to buy a whole new printer( complete with ink) than it is to replace the ink in your existing printer. YOU COULD NOT FECKIN MAKE IT UP!!!! How can we ever begin to act responsibly and adapt to the idea of conserving the planets resources when these capitalist extortionist b******s are given Cart Blanche to produce as much plastic s**t as they want - and license run a multi-faceted cartel to keep shoving it down our throats? Think about those HP / EPSON executives , lighting their Havana’s with $100 notes the next time you’re fined or harangued for putting your recycled ‘bits’ in the recycled ‘bobs’ box. Or if you’re using your recycled razor wire bog paper, doing your bit to save the planet, be prepared for all those buried PC’s, printers, and ink cartridges that are probably backing up through your sewage system and loo bowl on a collision course with your backside .
