True

True

A Poem by Serene
"

A poem about a true,strong friendship.

"
A little boy sat alone on a dock,
dangeling his feet cautiously over the edge.
Not a fear in the world,
but, the fear of finding himself.
He was different,
A boy where you would really have to look at him,
a true,
caring,
look,
to get to know him better.
He hides his feelings with a smile,
and every upset emotion with a remark.
He isolates himself,
he thinks no one cares of HIS hurt side.
And although many thought,
and tried to get close,
there were many things that he locked away,
firmly.
He thought he trusted,
But, he knew buried deep,
he did not.
He was different.
Oh so different.
And this boy had worries,
little, pointless, worries.
When he did,
he called out to the wise surface of the ocean,
glancing at his image,
reflecting on himself.
The "thought" wrongs seeming to be right,
the hurt feelings mended by the calm,
serene words of the water.
Although, no one saw his best friend like he did.
The other naive children ran away in fear,
the ocean,
unsettle.
Playful waves crashing against the wooden floor boards of the moldy dock.
Many misunderstood,
while others saw a murky blue,
he saw the clear, beautiful image of his friend.
His first,
one,
true,
friend.
For once the little boy did not feel selfish talking of himself,
the ocean listened,
and once and a while the boy would keep the ocean on rhythm,
to calm the slicing of the waves.
