the abyss

the abyss

A Poem by I.M. Livingston
"

"When you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares into you"

"
Forgive me my love, I have have forsaken your name,
I cannot describe how the abyss has shaken my soul,
At the sight of its depths I have been driven mad beyond control,
Such unutterable creatures creep and crawl through its cavernous length,
You cannot imagine the horrors that await you your mind have not the strength.

At first glance it seems innocent and hardly evil,
But the longer you gaze it dreems itself more so much more lethal,
Your brain will start to flutter and turn itself inside out,
You will be rightfully mad this I do not slightly doubt.

This I tell you, you must never forget,
The story I tell are not just lies that I spit,
if you ever venture into the mouth of its darkness,
You will feel the creatures of the abyss,
Remember please remember I beg of you,
When you stare into the abyss it stares back into you.

I am also a Edgar Allan Poe zealot. I can see the inspiration in this, and it is well done. The last line is perfect. Leaves you with an uneasy feeling. Keep posting
