Evening

Evening

A Poem by Drew S.

It’s becoming harder to reach, as the cliff has gotten farther away

To say it’s all your fault, or anyone’s, would really be stretching too far

Even if I could grasp it would my arms be able to hold what I weigh

My thin fingers are already too brittle to simply strum a guitar

Head trauma has come like the flu too, keeps me in this perpetual sway

Can't complain however, who was the one that etched in that small smiling scar

Let me fall, sorry to be so blunt, but I can't make you see it my way

I've tried, but truly no one can change what others think or change who they are

You are kind because it's challenging to help someone who has gone astray

I can’t thank you enough, however all these thoughts have become too bizarre

The sun is setting and it'll be dark soon just the end of another day
