Carved OutA Poem by Drew S.
A staunch, bottom stone that holds the weight of the wall
All of the other bricks down here are just broken Chiseled down by previously made conditions Predispositions cultivated by others This strong brick though won't be broken, but will break out Beaten, slashed, it will only shatter and cut them Their intent is uncertain, most likely selfish A manifestation of their own condition Or maybe it’s a fear that runs black through their veins Context gives sympathy they don’t return in kind Ignoring our faces and each breaking voice They try to cut out the undesired from the wall Though this willful stone can support the other bricks And can stay the same, won't be encarved or taken © 2018 Drew S. |
