![]() ParaphernaliaA Poem by Dressed in Poetry![]() Rhyme experiment.![]() The scattered paraphernalia – The battered paraphernalia – Was torn and tattered, Shorn and shattered Like her last chance – Like their last dance. The advance, the hypnotic trance Of their final romance Littered the floor – Tore the décor – As it fell from the drawer And out toward the door. She was ignored, Not restored or adored, And she implored, “Please, don’t leave me – Just believe me, You cannot possibly perceive the Emotion, the devotion – You have no notion Of what I feel – It’s so surreal, it’s just unreal – I can’t conceal it, I must reveal it. Just please, don’t steal it Then depart and break apart My brittle, fragile heart (My heart so swollen From the love you’ve already stolen). Just stay with me – Decay with me – I won’t betray Or run astray on any day. It’s so clichéd, But don’t leave me Shorn and shattered, Torn and tattered Like my poor, broken, battered Paraphernalia oh so scattered.”
