Broken Heart

Broken Heart

A Poem by Dressed in Poetry

Everything spun

Like a merry-go-round

As her heart did pound "

PoundpoundPoundpound "

To the rhythm,

The pounding rhythm "

The sounding rhythm "

In her soul.

As her role

Took its toll "

Stole its toll "

She lost control,

And her heart

Then did dart -

Far apart the beats depart "

As her role

Stole its toll.

The pounding rhythm,

The sounding rhythm "

 The surrounding rhythm "

PoundpoundPoundpounded

And she fell, so astounded "

So confounded "

All surrounded by unbounded emotion "

By devotion "

By the potion, by the notion

That love would save her "

Make her braver,

Not deprave her.

But she was wrong "

Oh, so wrong, cried the throng

And her misery song

Went along,

And her heart pounded strong

As the song went along,

Captured by the pounding rhythm "

The sounding rhythm "

The rhythm that surrounded -

That confounded "

That expounded and astounded

Until her heart no longer pounded.
