An Angel Falls

Everyone has their own image
Of Lucifer

From the sky:
The beautiful, dark angel
Who became a demon instead,
Marred by his own actions,
Condemned both by God
And by humanity –
            Hated, despised.
Isn’t it ironic
That everything we hate about him
Is within ourselves?
We refuse to see the correlation –
We deny that we could ever
Be what he is,
Yet even Hitler was an artist once,
With a love for the world,
And he became
            Hated, despised
Just as Lucifer is.
But I…
I cannot hate what is a part of me.
I do not despise Lucifer for having
The same flaws I have –
I pity him, because he must now
                        Remain in his land forever.
He must be hated, he must be the
                        Emblem of evil and wrong
            Forevermore.

That's sad! He's not hating his land. He is not the emblem of evil. He is not a demon, or a human, but an angel. Stories got it wrong. He didn't do anything to Jesus. He was the first angel ever created, and he didn't think that no one was worthy of God. He thought that everyone was worthy enough to at least have a heaven of their own. The bet stories were thought up in that one. They both bet on humanity, trying to prove to one another what we would be like. I believe, as the STORIES go, they, both, were half wrong. I don't believe in, basically, "the bringer of the light," but I still love to hear this stuff. Thank you for your write. I love anything that has to do with it. But what is the opposite of wings? The simple opposite of wings would be fins. Birds in Egypt were considered as powerful. I think, that, that's where it came from. Fairies are just another story that was only a copy, so a myth everything went. I believe Lucifer would have light blue hair, because of one of the God's of Egypt that had the same story that was Typhon, or something like that. Paganism is still a part of the rest of the religions. If you are annoyed by now, I apologize. --Alisha
