Poetry

I'm working on concrete poems for my Creative Writing class. Here's what I have for today.

 

I

am.

I am ethos,

logos, and pathos.

I am parallelism and I am

similes. I am anything that you

can learn within an English classroom.

I am structure, and I am conformity. But I can

also be free-thinking and opinions. I am not held down

by anything that binds the human race as a whole, for I am no

human. I am love, I am hate, I am every other emotion

you are able to convey within a single sheet of

college-ruled paper. I am all of these, and

I am nothing at the same time, for

I am beyond the descriptions

you place upon me.

I am perfect.

Or am

I?

concrete poems are generally easier to grasp the concept of... you do this well in your poem. i enjoy the layout of the poem a lot as well... a question to be rhetorical at the end... at least in my head... anyway... well done...

aside from the absolute perfection with the shape of this poem, the one other thing that stood out for me, was that it started with "I am" and ended with "am I" which is of course I am in reverse, and i found that particularly poingnant as it seems to answer the poems question, almost subconsciously.
the only critique is the title i feel. i don't think if says or does anytihng for the poem either in terms of its style or content, but apart from that, this must have been a dedicated write,and it has paid off!
