Frustration

Frustration

A Poem by Dressed in Poetry

“What’s wrong?”
Oh – I don’t know…
Maybe the fact that you have to disagree
With everything that comes out of my mouth?
“Are you okay?”
Oh, yes, I’m great…
I feel more distant from you than ever,
And that just makes my day.
“There’s no need to snap at me.”
Apparently, there is, because you don’t take the time
To listen to me unless there’s something
You think you have to fix.
“I’m sorry that you didn’t tell me earlier.”
I’m sorry you weren’t around for me to talk to.
            “You shouldn’t be so sarcastic.”
I have to be, because my anger
Is the only thing you respond to,
Because you know it means that
I just stuck up a wall between us.
Sarcasm and cynicism are the only ways
I can tell you how I really feel
Without completely

Dressed in Poetry
I tried to edit this to make it more "poetic" but it lost something there I believe.

Poetic can't be defined. I think it's wonderful!
