Broken DreamsA Poem by Dressed in PoetryFrom the format of "There's a certain Slant of Light" by Emily Dickenson.
Running down a boulevard,
Forever running–
Away from these Haunting Dreams
Of Death and Despair–
Lingering Feelings drown my thoughts–
Too deep to be found,
They lie and wait for my Doubt,
Then creep out and stab–
Sometimes the wait kills me–
The wait for my Death–
My faith dissolves in the Darkness
Sent to me each Night–
Within the light, I am not–
The Darkness –pauses–
When it restarts, it is stronger
On the point of Death–
