The lifeboat !

The poem compares life with a boat that sails through an ocean.

Bequeathed is the life boat, 

an ocean you ought to sail,

boats may differ from one another,

but sense of belonging prevails.

The sentiments short lived, 

petty grudges slog the boat, 

forgiveness makes it lighter, 

helps in staying afloat. 

The mast of peace brings direction, 

boat stretches far and wide, 

tempests visit you, to and fro, 

with patience you roll. 

Disillusionments make the chunk, 

ripples of clarity remain elusive, 

amidst self-driven motives, 

tit bits of ecstasy make thee effusive.

Awareness sparkles as dewdrops, 

bringing hope to the dark windy nights, 

toil hard in the rough waters, 

make hay when the sunshines.

Clouds may obstruct what you see, 

listen to the voice of conscience,

calmness leads to revelations, 

garner the diligence, to stay upright. 

The boat will complete the voyage, 

sometimes far ahead, sometimes slow, 

serendipity may once strike gold,

be like the water as you go with the flow.

Adore the wings of flying fishes, 

and the little pebbles lying across the shore,

touch the silver waves with your fingers,

rejoice the journey as you sail through.
