Running away

Running away

A Poem by Endless Flight

You do this all the time.
You run away, far away.
Run so no-one can see you,
Run so no-one can hear you,
Run so no-one can feel your presence,
But I wonder why.

It never helps.
It never helps to run away,
And I've told you countless times,
But you still do that,
I wonder why.

Is the fear so overwhelming?
Is the pain so horrifying?
Is the loneliness so depressing?
Is that why?
All because of that?

But don't you see, dear?
That it is all in your mind?
That you can control everything?
You can. Believe me.
Why? Why can't you believe me?
Or is that you can't believe yourself?

Have you lost faith?
Have you lost the ability to believe others?
Have you lost the ability to believe yourself?
The ability to trust?
Have you lost it all?
Then, my dear, it seems you have lost your humanity....

So, please. Stay.
Don't run away.
This may as well be your very last chance.
So, my dear, this is your own choice.
All by yourself, you must decide.
Will you run away again?
