If only I had-

If only I had legs and feet, 

I would jump and run,

Run towards the sky!

If only I had arms and hands, 

I would paint and draw,

Draw the whole world!

 

If only I had a heart, 

I would love everything and everyone,

Love till my heart explodes!

 

If only I had a mouth,

I would speak and sing,

Sing till the heavens could hear!

If only I had ears,

I would listen to the people and to the world,

Listen to nature's call!

If only I had eyes,

I would see everyone and everything,

See the world as it wonders!

If only I had a life, 

I would live,

Ay! Live it to the fullest!

But, alas! Woe to me!

For I am a spirit - neither alive, nor dead.

But, thou! Thou'st is alive!

Thou can live, thou can hear, thou can play!

Ay! It is right! Thou will love thy own life!
