Bubbie

A Poem by Graveyardfuck
"

I hope this relates to a lot of you guys. <3

"
Mommy hit Bubbie again,
It scare me.

I can hear Bubbie crying on the potty,
And I cry to.

Bubbie put me to sleep with a story,
He cry when he think I was sleeping.

Bubbie hit mommy this time,
And he cry in his room.

He came out and his arm all bloody.

I cry and Bubbie hug me,
And he make hot cheese sandwitch.

Mommy talk about putting Bubbie and me in fosster home,
Bubbie cry more.

Bubbie my favrit person,
He best Bubbie in the world!

Bubbie look sad...
And it make me sad.

I hate mommy,
I love only Bubbie.

I love Bubbie forever and ever.

Love this. Very well written, but terribly sad.

Living in a home where there is violence between people you love is never easy. And sadly in the end sides are always chosen. Very nicely written, the perspective from a child, highlights the point.

A well written piece, but the uniform couplet structure threw me from the four-year old theme a little. Good use of language though, I enjoyed this one :)

very powerful piece! such strong emotion. You even took the effort of putting it in character, which helps tell the story. nicely written once again.

Wow. Very powerful and I like what you did with the child's view. It makes it easier to hear a child's voice saying such things

At four years old, it's hard to comprehend that sort of stuff. We just know who is nice and who is not; who makes us laugh, feeds us, tucks us in to bed with kisses and stories -- and who does just the opposite. It's an easy choice for most. Why does the dog bite the hand that feeds it? Probably because the foot it's attached to kicks it. What child wouldn't grow up conflicted? A poem to ponder at all levels. Thanks Brooke.
