We Want What We Cannot Have

Poem I had to rewrite since my computer started dicking around -_-

I once thought

That

Life could be like

Books

But

I was

Wrong

Fairy tales

Are meant for ink

And reality

Is meant for blood

Pain 

In novels

Is not like

Pain in the 

Real world

Out here

Pain 

Sticks with us

Forever

I was

Oblivious Oblivious...

To the fact

That

You did not

Care

My heart

Fell away

Sprawled out

On a bed of asphalt

Gazing at stars

That held a

Different meaning

After you

Said...

"Now's not the time"

Books

In books

It'd be different

In books

You'd take me

Away

From all of this

Pain

But no

We cannot have

What we

Want

We want 

What

We cannot have

After this

I retreat

To my

Vodka throne

Of less tears

And less

Worries

With the

Thoughts

Of you

Drowned

Out

By my preffered poison

And realised

Books

Are nothing

Like reality

Nothing...

One shot

Two shot

Three shot

See you in the morning

Reality...

Great emotion in this poem. My favorite line is "Fairy tales
Are meant for ink" So true, I think. Why do we always want what we cannot have?! Well for that I guess there are many reasons. I can relate to your poem. "Vodka throne" is another great line. I think the way you set up the poem gives it that extra kick. Thanks for the read request!

The concept is good, but I feel like there was no rhythm. The lines could be longer in my point of view and maybe some punctuation to emphasize, although poems do not need it. Take Care! Stay Strong! :)

these lines are truly beautiful! don't we all wish we could escape and shimmy are broken ways into the pages of a novel...weave our lives between the ink and forget that we're made of blood. this captures that sentiment perfectly! who needs reality when we can just write or read whatever fiction we want- great work!
