Diary of a Zombie

A little poem a wrote in the view of puzzled zombie a while back.

The backbeat of the soundtrack staggers,

Slower than a heartbeat.

My head slumps to the side,

And my arms reach out in front of me.

I vacillate, unsure how to walk.

My baby doe-like legs move onward to the backbeat,

Towards my terrified victim, I go.

Drool spews from my mouth uncontrollably.

So…

Hungry…

I snatch at my victim, and dig my dirty fingers into her flesh.

Blood… Vital organs…

Mmmm…

I reach for her heart,

AND YANK.

A moan escapes from my bloody lips.

Oh, what a mess I have made, now.

But this isn’t right…

I can no longer compute normal human thoughts.

What are those again?

I cannot control myself.

Must…

i think in the section where your zombie character begins to second guess themselves, you could make that more powerful... i don't think a zombie would consciously think "i can't process human thoughts." those thoughts would be a distant flickering, nagging at them to put the human heart down...but they can't and the flickering disappears and they're blood thirsty and cold and that's all they can feel. just something more powerful. other than that, i love how you travel into very daring topics of writing and i really enjoyed this-great work!

This was a wicked concept and you launched it epically! Lol. I could even see this idea turning into a book. Though I don't know how elaborate you can get with Zombie thought/dialogue lol. Thanks for sharing :)
