Welcome to WonderlandA Chapter by Avangeline in WonderlandWonderland: Alice's Musical AdventureScene I Act I Narrator: Our story begins with a girl named Alice Liddell. She was harmlessly sitting in a patch of daisies one warm afternoon, listening to her sister read. Her cat Dina sitting next to her. Alice was bored with her sisters reading. What could be so fun about a book with no pictures in it!? Dina began to meow at Alice, staring off at the forest. ~ Alice sits up and looks at Dina~ Alice: What is it Dina? It's just a rabbit in a waistcoat... and A pocket watch! ~ Alice stands quickly and runs across the bridge into the forest, Dina follows her.~ Narrator: Alice was intrigued by this white rabbit. Because she had never seen a dressed rabbit before. ~ The White Rabbit disappears, Alice follows close behind and see's the rabbit hole~ Alice: He went this way Dina! Let's follow him! ~ Alice moves towards the rabbit hole, but the dirt gives way and she falls~ Alice: Ohh! Goodbye Dina! Goodbyeee! ~ Alice falls for awhile in the dark. Then the lights turn on and she see's floating furniture~ Alice: What if I were to fall right through the center of the Earth and end up in the land where people walk upside down? Narrator: Alice continued to fall down the rabbit hole until she land on the floor swiftly. ~Alice stands and brushes her skirt off~ Narrator: She see's the white rabbit staring at his pocket watch and stares at him for awhile before running after him. ~Alice runs off the stage after the rabbit~ Act II ~The White Rabbit enters the stage from the left, then disappears through a small door.~ Alice: Which door did that rabbit go through? ~ Alice looks around the room. She tugs on each door.~ Alice: All of these doors are locked! ~Alice turns around and see's a key on a table. She picked it up and tries it in each door.~ Alice: *sigh* What's the point? ~Alice sits on the floor and begins to cry~ Narrator: Alice's tears hit the floor as she cried. She was afraid of never making it home again. What if she was trapped here in this room forever? Alice looked up, wiping her tears away, and saw a curtain. ~ Alice stands up and pushes the curtain away~ Alice: Oh! A secret door!? ~ Alice inserts the key and the door opens~ Narrator: Alice was bewildered when she saw what was on the other side of the door. A beautiful lush land of flowers as tall as buildings. ~ Alice exists the stage through the door~ Act III ~Alice re-enters the stage in a garden of flowers~ Narrator: Alice looked around the garden, stopping when she noticed a cluster of people. But they didn't look completely human. They had the features of animals. Animal 1: Welcome to Wonderland! Animal 2: My god it's half past eight!
~The animals move to Alice and surround her~ Animal 4: You're gonna fit right in. A little fun detour! A little crazy, sure. Don't get all insecure! ~Alice stares at them~ Narrator: Alice was befuddled that these animal like humans were talking. She did not know what to say! Animal 2: Pardon me, but have you seen, Someone looking like a queen?
~Alice steps back, the animals step forwards~
Alice: What?
Alice: PLEASE start making sense! ~The animals smile, then began to dance around Alice~ Animal 4: Have you seen my walrus dear. Big mustache that's down to here
Alice: Wait, I think you think I think I'm dreaming! And when I wake up I'll wake up screaming! Animal 1: We don't think as all we simply feel dear Alice: Ok, someone tell me what's the deal here ~Alice crosses her arms and turns in circles as she tries to keep up with them all~ All Animals: Welcome to Wonderland! This is your new address! You'll love it more or less. No time to decompress!
~Alice holds her head~ Alice: GET ME OUT OF HERE! Animal 1: Answers are in short supply. Who, what, where, when, how or why. Cross my heart and hope to die! Get it into gear! Animal 3: When your alter-ego's interfering. Self-esteem cannot stop disappearing! All Animals: Welcome to Wonderland. Start rocking with the band. You're going so damn fast. Your future's in your past. An author always knows. Which way the story goes. So tidy up loose ends. With a little help from your friends!
Animal 2: Sit back, enjoy yourself and feel the river flow. Make sure the journey's worth the things you're chancin'. We're all a little nuts in case you. Animal 1: Ooblee, Ooblah. We'd love to stay here but we really gotta go. Ooblee, Oohblah! Animal 3: Life can be fantastic every minute. For as long as you can just stay in it.
