What lies behind...

There is so much pain that lies behind that smile and those eyes.

Her hair, it glows in the sun,

Red velvet locks draping over her shoulders,

She's got eyes that can tell you a million stories,

They've seen hate, love, pain, joy and pure bliss,

Her smile, big and bright hides behind her pursed lips,

Her body, smelling of flowers, keeps a distance,

She thinks she's getting close but those walls are keeping her trapped,

Her heart, even though you can't see it, is broken into pieces,

She has tried to mend it but there's no fixing it,

She walks like a model, but her head hangs low because she is afraid,

She's afraid to talk, afraid people might see her pain,

She's different, she knows she's different,

She's fragile, fragile like a piece of glass,

She's waiting, waiting for the day these feeling will all be in the past.
