Hope Deferred

Hope Deferred

A Poem by Dream_on

Hope it gives us strength when we have none
Its exactly what you need to get the job done
So tell me have you heard
What happens when hope is deferred

Does the universe stop spinning
Does the underdog stop winning
Or will the sun stop giving it's light
Or will every second of everyday be a fight

This is a question nobody wants answer
Cause hope lost plagues your mind like a cancer
You feel the fear that haunts in the back of your mind
It's like a voice calling and calling from behind

Hope deferred makes the heart sick
To which there is no remedy you can pick
So never ever lose hope
It's equivalent to hanging yourself with a rope.

Interesting in that it begs questions. The third stanza first line has a missing word:
This is a question nobody wants to answer
I have looked at your other posts and I suggest you stop trying to force rhyme and try some free verse.
