Bliss

Bliss

A Poem by Dream_Catcher

Bliss

Is it bliss?

A simple mind shielded from the real world"

The tears of innocent people, released only to condense as summer clouds

As simple minds do rest upon them unknowingly

Is it bliss,

to not know when you are to die,

to never know the terror that awaits you outside your mind’s cocoon?

Though, the thinness of your knowledge will not hold you from falling.

Happiness, perhaps even joy is to bask in the lightness of clouds,

But to suddenly know, to suddenly slip out of Foolishness and plummet into Reality"

the barbed branches and poisoned animals that inhabit the forest below.

Is it bliss,

to be spared Truth’s rude and blunt awakening,

to know from the start that Life sometimes engages in dark dealings,

merging your name into the balance, forcing you to

learn the dangers of the forest floor and climb to survive them.

You grow to know that soft vines do not hold;

and though the arm of a tree may appear widest of all,

its insides are filled with mold and corruptness.

So is it bliss?

The ignorance that builds parasitic bonds to the minds of people"

The ignorance that continues to press into the minds of the young"

Of course, who am I to speak,

for I have never floated upon Ignorance’s tranquil clouds,

making a false question of" Is it bliss?

For if it was ever true, no man would ever know of it.
