Dying red RoseA Poem by Bridget McmakenA red rose held in her hand The rose that was given by her man Memories flood her mind as she looks at it So bright and happy their love is to be Life goes on and things are changing The red rose was like no other The man gave her a red rose for love As long as they love one another the rose stays the red color As days go on and time passes by The rose is losing it's color Everyday the red fades Turning into a black The girl looks back at her hands In the pass she seen She looked at what was the red rose Black as it could be A tear falls from her eyes Not till then did she understand The black rose held in her hand A tears falls from her dark eyes The rose stayed alive because of the love it was given Not to the rose But the love the woman and man felt Sadness over whelms She drops the black rose on the ground Turning her back to the rose and walks away Wishing she could have saved the rose Wishing it would have stayed red Now it lays on the cold dry ground Dead
