Tables Turned, Candles BurnedA Poem by DreamWeaver 2154A Love gone cold touches more than we know
In a dark room, a sole candle burns
this candle tells a story of a love once lived. The flame feds off the wind as I fed off of you oh that hungry flame, the symbol of our love The pulse of the flame echoes that of our passion beating wild, free, strong, and frenzied I held you close, spoke your name, breathed your breath, and it brought us further, closer, together, as one White hot and flaming, the candle burned, taking our lives and melting them down and through thick and thin, the coldest winds, our passion burned, endless and strong But with every candle, there is an hourglass, the sands flowing slowly down down to the bottom, the end, the last and so our love flickered and died I held on longer than I should, strength I didn't have I drowned in my desperation, your despair I saw your heart leaving mine, now and forever indifferent but with it you took more than hou hoped. I am at a loss, my heart broken, chipped away pieces still embedded into yours and as my flame flickers and dies in silence a new air revives you, your flame towers, roars, leaving mine to smolder in anguish, in your absence I was torn apart by your wandering eye, your restless heart her voice lingers in my ear, taunting, teasing while she rebuilds you, gives you what I lost on that last day The dim light becomes darker as this flame withers and dies its story coing to an end, struggling to recover, to heal but the fuel turns black, tainted by deception and lies and the air in the room grows cold missing the warmth as i do What I once held in highest regard, i now look upon in despair holding that smoking candle, wanting to scream, standing by the door What was here is gone, stolen from me, never to be returned and this candle will stand cold, forgotten, never to burn once more.
