Just Press Play (Reprise)

Just Press Play (Reprise)

A Poem by Cerebriation
"

Revised version of "just press play"

"
What's this vibe,
so bright and soothing?
What's this feeling,
dancing so?
And what’s this sound,
so captivating?
Certainly, you'd love to know.

What is it that summons dance;
That sets us loose,
Beyond the day?
That lifts us into bliss,
And reunites us with our center.

It's passion, madness, love, and anger.
It's wonder, wisdom, lust, and joy.

It's incantations of emotions,
set to beats and rhythms.
It's incarnations of our feelings,
melodic and to song.

Bliss so great, it's cataclysmic.
Ultimate catharsis.
So relaxing, it's chaotic.
Pineal enlargement.

Musical feelings
Lyrical vibes
Harmonic entrancement
Tonal emotions
Vocal perceptions
Melodic enchantment

The dance is summoned by the rhythm.
We're let loose by the bass.
We ride the vocals into night.
To bliss we ride atop the music.
Back to center with the song.

So, sickness sinks behind the music.
Sadness drowns as drums percuss.
Worry sinks as volume rises.
Vocals makes the madness hush.

All this power is surely elusive,
Undoubtedly kept out of reach.
Come again, please.
What's that you say?
It's merely a button away?
Tell me what button.
Which one am I pressing?
So I just
press
play
?

The year and its seasons.. time and its seconds.. we live day in, day out via permanent rhythms . We're surrounded by repetitive motion and Music - man-made marvellous sound is contained in and by all that. Surely? Plus, as your wonderfully laid words say in different ways, '.. It's incantations of emotions, ~ set to beats and rhythms. ' - and also, - 'The dance is summoned by the rhythm. ~ We're let loose by the bass. ~ We ride the vocals into night.~ To bliss we ride atop the music. ~ Back to center with the song. '

You've laid yourself along with your emotions with this poem, described how you feel, how it feels, how it echoes.. and the need of having more by just touch-touching..that button.. An essential. Surely?

i can relate. i love music. couldn't live without it. just nothing like it as it touches our souls. sometimes it feels like our lives are songs. we can make our own music too. you've done a terrific job here of capturing that. no matter how we're feeling there is music - just have to hit the correct button as you say ... :)

Your poem feels like a journey thru alternating terrain, at times lyrical, at times cerebral, at times explanatory, at times questioning. Excellent job of using musical terminology and named emotions side by side like a dance. I use music all the time to get inspired to write something. Your poem uses words that convey rhythmic sounds (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Ohhh yeah....Love me some music. Nothing can exacerbate or quell emotion better than the perfect song. And the fact that we have such access to so much music now with the internet it can be overwhelming. but still going back to those faves again and again can be quite cathartic. Enjoyed this!!

No rush, no reason, no necessity - only if you want and have the time.
This recalled the scene from Shawshank's Redemption where Andy plays the aria over the prison tannoy.
The men are freed by the music.
Music is a force unto it's own - nobody knows for sure why it can heal the human spirit but they know that it does. It's intuitive and instinctive.
You bring us through the world of music and exhibit some of it's awesomeness here C.I.
A delve into the what without really questioning the why. More a celebration than a post-mortem.
I have my own theory for each person liking music. I'll not bore you with it.
This is good.
