Self-Hurting

Ever see a man burn?

I have

He burned in the fire of his own selfish-ness

The fire consumed him slowly

Inch by inch

The spark started in his head

By who?

By what?

Probably the weak nature of human greed and want

It had to start at birth

Because now it has consumed him fully

He pushes away those who love him

His only child

Shoved away because she wishes to marry

To marry the man she lovesss

But her selfish father hates

He even refused to show up at her graduation

He hasn't spoken to her since the day before it

She wants to forgive him

She honestly does miss him

But his selfish and childish acts are ones she connot handle

She has to live her life

And she is going to do it with the man she loves

Her father knows it but wont admit it

That he will lose her completely if he doesnt change

But the real question is....  

                                     Can someone that self-consumed change their ways??
