Inspired by Lizzie Bell. A very special girl with a very rare blood disease. DONATE BLOOD The familys worry was that there may not be enough blood, because only 5% of eligible people donate.

Blood.

An essential part of our lives.

The blood that our bodies make,

doesn't always work for everybody.

A little girl has to sit in a chair,

and takes a needle in the arm,

twice every month.

Her family has a problem with money,

but they do not worry of themselves.

They only care of their little girls health.

Brittle bones and not enough red blood cells.

She gets sick so easy, hospital trips like crazy,

but still she is a fighter.

She gets up and rallys.

She gets people to donate that

suculent liquid so essential to life.

At only fourteen she was given an award

by the American Red Cross for all her help

but still her fighting does not stop there.

She not only makes people aware

But she asks and get donations of toys

For all those little girls and boys

Who are stuck in hospitals fo roh so long.

An amazing girl,

A great story

All about donating.

         Save a life and give blood

So more people like this little girl

can live on and pay it forward

with all they have to give.

I am glad that you have written a poem on this. I have just started to give blood (AB positive here; I didnt know that until I started). I think it is important for this message to get across. This is something many people can help out and give life giving blood to those in need! Well written and this touched my heart!!!
