Earth Teach Me...

Poem written as an assignment in class... so yeeaa

Earth teach me,

the way of the land just as you did the indians.

Earth teach me,

to have strength just like the fiercesome cheetah.

Earht teach me,

pride just like the majestic eagle flying through the sky.

Earth teach me,

grief so i may move on and continue with life.

Earth teach me,

intelligence like the wolf who slowly stalks his prey.

Earth teach me,

trust so that i may be like the baby bird intrusting is parents.

Earth teach me,

respect like the proud lions in a territorial debate.

Earth teach me,

All that i must need to live a life of happiness and joy.

It is funny but in each of these examples the quality that is asked to be learned from the earth is actual innate in each of the animals that possess them. I too think these qualities are in us already if we so chose to listen to our inner voice and trust our guts as to how we should be.
