Look at this

Look at all of this,

the torture, the lies,

Whats gone wrong?

Whatever happen to the

perfect family?

I know it was here...once

I have faint, little memories

Where'd it go?

I wanna know, I want it back,

I hate what the

perfect family's become,

A mother hiding on the

computer 24/7

A father obsessed with

TV and his phone

And a daughter stuck

in their sick

pleasures of torture,

just wanting out,

wanting away,

but having to wait.

The girl sits and wonders,

how this came to be,

she wants to know

what happened to

her perfect family....

don't you know that every american family is dysfunctional to some extent? i can feel your angst and teenaged confusion which means that the poem is effective and well written. it also means that you are going through the most awkward and difficult part of your life. relax some, ignore the dumb s**t and try to be the best you can be. it'll come along.
