We Did

A poem I wrote for my love. It strikes me to be a more modern style of poetry, which I'm not overly fond of, but here it is.

Quality over Quantity,

Every hour you spend with me,

Is worth twice the other 23.

And every line I write for you,

Means all the more,

For what we’ve been through.

it’s catch 22.

Now that we share a front door,

Shouldn't we see each other more?

It feels like we're together less,

Surely not another test, please remember;

We are blessed.

We had all the time in a week before,

But nothing more,

We knew that we had to build that door.

&

Four walls, 

Made from midnight phone calls. 

Is a balcony, the place to be,

at half past three?

Two people, staring at one moon,

with an entire world in between?

It was all a dream. 

That we made real.

So if you ever doubt how I feel, 

Remember where we started,

Remember where we’re going,

We had no earthly way of knowing. 

But we did.

This feels like a topsy-turvy description of this love path, which is an authentic way to show love, & for that I really like your poem. The narrator feels very uninhibited, never even getting close to any of the dusty love cliches. This feels like a relationship where it's OK to say it however it really feels (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
