The Canada Goose

The Canada Goose

A Poem by Dream Hunter

Simplicity at its best
Feathers silky and glossy
Rich satin plumage
She stands ever so knowingly
Black eyes, watching all
Delicate head poised high
So
Still
and
pure.
She curves her elegant black neck
And preens her feathers
With careful meticulousness
Plumage ruffled by her bill
And then smoothed down again
Sleek and smooth
So
Clean
and
pure.
Daintily she steps forward
Silently, making no sound
Then she unfurls her great wings
Wide and strong
And lifts herself into the air
Gliding above the land.
So
Light
and
pure.
