Dying

Dying

A Poem by Drea

I wanted you to see the rage running violently throughout my veins
To hear the words I spit so passionately from my soul
I wanted you to reach inside and heal me
Make me whole again
Fill the void
But, you walked away
Leaving me to die on the dark road of broken dreams
It was raining that night
And as I held myself
I realized, I'm nothing at all
I drowned my sorrows in the river
And never came back to surface for air

My little niece... Know that I love you no matter what with no strings. I will be the balm to soothe away the hurt, I will defend you no matter the cost even if it cost me my life. Keep writing and remember troubles don't last and joy really comes in the morning...love your Uncle...

Wow! I love that you are using this as an outlet. The line 'dark road of broken dreams' is full of imagery. Keep writing...

nice brief poem enjoyed the style and it felt more lyrical which helped in the feel as a whole, however I feel that the line "But, you walked away" should have been split and separated the poem in two separate stanzas but that is a personal change. Grammar wasn't a problem and the lack of punctuation helped it feel lifeless. keep on writing.
