Illness verses IllnessA Poem by DrocAn erlier poem about two people with mental illness attempting to establish a friendshipIllness verses Illness
Within the fields of poetry we embraced vibrations in harmony We read between the lines that defined who we were We searched and discovered links others didn't see And so began a friendship of light footsteps treading gently
Though it was not to be
You whispered in my ear the secrets we now share Our souls touched gently like fingers linking cautiously And we made promises that linked us for eternity With terms of endearment spoken quietly and sincerely
Though what was to be we couldn't see
We had magic moments that wrapped us in temperate glow Melting ice from around hearts allowing love to flow free Sitting quietly holding hands under the stars in a cyber field Mesmerized by the rustle of fallen leaves beneath a cyber tree
Perhaps we were not meant to see what was to be
Bipolar verses extreme depression and anxiety in silence Winds of confusion erupting with a force so crushing Two monsters rushing at each clashing fiercely unintended With torn and tattered souls seeping sadness when it ended
Would you have preferred it not to have been
I spill tears as I pen this verse at the cost to us emotionally The heavy weight of such a deep loss carried despairingly Fills the mind and spills into the heart and soul in endless cycle Silent screams reverberate in the vacuum of a mental chamber
Why did we meet if not meant to be
Why do I shed tears at what was not meant to be Why do I hear an accent in my ears so melodiously Why part of me wilting like a flower, is denied the sun I can't accept this is the fruit from the seeds we had sown There is a level of friendship I would wish to be
I offer you my apology
