Days Concert

A Poem by Kitsue
"

a poem I thought of while reading manga

"

The director crest the lazy mountain podium
It’s rays dance like fingers across the land
Touching trees and stones
Waking the instruments for the song to begin

It starts in low with the wind
Grows with a gentle flutter and a twitter of birds
They rise from nests and perch to take flight
Bringing others into the pleasant melody

The director rises higher
The trumpets start their roar
They hustle and bustle down large stretches
The horns and bells dancing into a symphony

The director has reached it zenith
The symphony is alive with the dancers
Speed measured by the fast paced metronome
Tickity-tockity never slowing, never stopping

The director now begins his descent
And a new director rises slowing down the metronome
Together they form the waltz
Played with new instruments

Finally the first director breeches the watery audience
Leaving the second to begin his sonata
The starting instruments are calmed to silence
As the new wake to soothe the land to sleep

As the director approaches his zenith in the stage
He changes the tune to a medley
It slows with harps and violins
Saxes and pianos that cast the world into sweet dreams
