I remember...A Poem by PeppyThis is a poem of memories I had with this guy I liked in my neighborhood...
I remember when we first met
You were that foster kid that moved into the foster home next door I remember when you came riding on your skateboard My friends and I giggled when you talked Your big ears and baggy clothes I remember when I thought there would never be a connection between us I was wrong I remember when it started raining and you had to go back home I wanted you to come back out again My friends and I sat in my garage and shared secrets Hannah and I liked you I remember when the next day came You came over with your friend I thought he was cute, but I liked you more I remember when we were like first graders Playing hide n seek in my front yard I remember when I said something the wrong way You accepted it the way I said I remember when we smiled at each other I remember when we hid together behind my car Our faces were so close to touching, but we both looked away You told me to run to base while you were the distraction I remember when I asked how old you were You were three years older, and I thought I would never had a chance I remember when I didn't see you again for a year I saw you again the next year on Christmas break I remember when you rode up my driveway on your bike You were texting and I wanted to ask for your number, but I didn't I remember when I played soccer and basketball with you You taught me how to throw the basketball and how to test if there was enough air in it I used your trick ever since I remember when you were playing soccer with my sister You wanted me to kick the ball instead of her I remember when you gave my friends and I candy canes on New Year's Eve I ate mine right away I remember when I thought you were my Romeo I remember when you told me your little brother liked me Later you told me it was a lie I remember one Saturday you brought your brothers over to play basketball My friends told you I liked you I was embarrassed I remember when you asked how old I was I lied about my age and pretended I was only two years younger than you You didn't seem to care though I remember when you had to go You promised you would come again next weekend I remember after you left, I danced around my yard in love I stopped and looked over to your yard You waved I hoped you didn't see me dancing I remember when you came the next weekend You said you kept your promise We smiled at each other I remember when you rode away on your bike with your friend for a minute You left me with your little brother Him and I talked until you came back I remember when you had a water bottle It wasn't full of water... you said your friend got sick on the way back I remember when your brother grabbed a can out of your hands He asked what it was I remember when you pretended you didn't know Your brother said he was gonna tell your parents You took it away from him and told me to come over there I remembered when you took my behind your bike and I watched you tear apart the can The beer can I remember when you forced your friend to throw the can in the canal He did You had to go You left me scared I remember when I was worried about you And I was an idiot because I was still in love with you Now I don't see you anymore Now the only reason I go outside is to see you Now you never come over anymore Now I only see you in your yard Now I only get waves from you Now I'm never lucky enough to catch you in front of my house Now I miss you © 2011 PeppyAuthor's Note
