Searching For PeaceA Poem by Drama ChildSearching for Peace
I’d give all I can not to worry, To not give stress a sound But round the mind’s rigged edge My thoughts jump from the ledge.
My conscience knows no bound. Dreaming of oceans and waters deep. Within the corals and the reef, My toes lost in the sand As my soul tries hard to sleep.
I still fight to push all worries aside Like a willow hanging, I’ve cried. A banjo keeps strumming; a car keeps humming. And I give up, for my peace has died. © 2016 Drama ChildAuthor's Note
