~Chapter One~A Chapter by DragongirlAn eerie silence broke through the night, giving chills down the spines of the warrior paw dogs- it was never this quiet in the forest. A large, brown dog with sky blue eyes turned to the even larger warrior paw next to him, eyeing the clearing in front of the troop; who were hiding in bushes. "Talonpaw!" He barked silently under his breath, making the brute turn to him. "Something is out there, I can smell it" He hissed, "I smell it too" He murmured back, lifting his back legs up to walk. He gave a swish of his tail, and shadowy figures appeared from the bushes and trees, whispering in between their selves. "Shut your muzzles!" He snapped, his name was Talonpaw from what the other dog said before. "What is happening>" A pale grey dog barked, sitting down. "It is too silent" He muttered, motioning his tail to follow. He turned, as he padded forward he heard the paw steps of his warriors. "Blood Pack!" A blood curdeling bark made Talonpaw's ears beat with the rush of blood, he turned and saw black shadows jump from the darkness, eyes glowing. Their speed and elegance was great, even greater than the fastest or best dog in their pack. He narrowed his eyes at the figures, "Run!" One dog shouted. "No! We'll bring them into den if we do that!" He snapped back, his gaze trying to catch the shadows. "Talo-" He heard a loud bark, and turned to see Blackpaw pinned to the ground by a brown brute. He snarled and leapt, knocking the attacker of his feet. He curled his lip back, making the shadow jump to another fight of two shadows, wrestling Lilyeye, a small she-cat warrior who was elegant and swift. "Lilyeye!" He growled and lunged at his attackers. This fight would last forever, and he knew warrior paw blood would be spilt. ~~~~~ Cali awoke to the sound of her owners sweet voice, asking her to wake up. Her eyes opened with sleep in them, making her grunt and stand up. She shook her pelt and weakly wagged her tail, smelling food. Her owner smiled and tipped a can of dog food into her bowl. Cali immediately beant down and licked the squares of meat, wrapped in a sweet liquid into her mouth. She swallowed and took a few more tastes, then wandered to her water bowl. She lapped some up, despite the horrible taste, but coolness. She was let outside as the woman opened the garden door. She lazily bounded outside and wagged her tail a little, but after a second she put it down to her backside. She sighed deeply and looked up at the blue sky, her own blue eyes scanning it. Cali could see a small bird a few paces away, "Come here little birdie" She murmured under her voice, stepping forward silently. Her collar rattled a little with name tags and adresses drawn onto metal and plastic pieces. She breathed in its scent as she approached, then heard a tweet. The bird had shot off as she attempted to lunge, making her land in a roll. Her back now ached, making her bark with a slight wince. She heard two more voices, and two children ran out to her. They rubbed her belly as she rolled over for her daily affection. She barked and rolled back, making them laugh. "Mum has got cake!" Yelled a male voice from inside, the sweet smell of chocolate carried outside. The kids got the advantage of running back inside, a meter in front of Cali now. She attempted to run over, but the door was shut before her eyes. She sighed and lapped up some water from her other water bowl, next to the door. She trudded to the tree that stood in the garden, and sniffed it for any signs of hunt. "Damn it. Why are there only birds here? I want to feel free" She barked. Cali always wanted to be free, but the dog that her owners neighbours owned barked at her it was too dangerous, that wild dogs roamed out there, waiting for a kill. She had sighed and argued, but he had to right answers to every thing. She sighed yet again and walked over to the fence. There was a large hole in it that her owners blocked with bricks that could be easily knocked over. She fat in there, and could squeeze out into the forest. Cali walked to the door and barked, seeing her owners all eating chocolate cake. She barked again, and the man hushed her, but she kept at it. The children giggled and one walked over, waving her finger at the Siberian Husky. She trudded off to the hole in the fence and used her muzzle to shove the bricks to the side. Cali quickly scurried out and breathed in the scent of the forest. A warming heat invited her to come in, but she knew nothing of the wild. She took her first paw in, and one by one made it a few meters before a shout rose over her. "Stranger!".
