Happy Endings

Do you believe in happy endings?

More often the endings I have seen

Are riddled with sadness and tears,

And the truest happiness

Is in the middle of our lives' stories.

Yet you told me happy endings

Must exist sometime, somewhere.

Small but precious comfort

You give me in those hopeful words.
