Try and Try and Try

Try and Try and Try

A Story by Collette Paige

My name is Nova. That's not my original name, of course. I have short pixie-cut red hair and I like to wear punk clothing...

I hate posers. With a Passion.

Does that mean I hate myself?

I know my appearence comes off as punk, and I am in love with punk music, but something about me doesn't want to be...punk.

I wear skinny jeans with holes in them, "The Clash" T-shirts and leather jackets. I wear fingerless gloves, hi-tops, and guy-liner (I know I know "your a girl! Just wear eyeliner!" but I like guy-liner better...it's thicker). But my personality doesn't fit my look...I'm nice. I never disrespect a teacher, in front of them anyway, and I've never gotten a detention except for being late. I'm nice to everyone and I feel bad when I hurt someone's feelings.

No matter how hard I try to rebel against my parents, I just can't. Maybe when I'm eighteen and I move out I'll be more...me...and not let my parent's hold me back.

Until then, I guess I'm just a pawn in their silly little game.

Author's Note

Collette Paige
This is actually me...except I don't go by Nova. I'm too wimpy to even do THAT. I want to be punk...but I never break the rules, and their are no other punks at my school. I don't want to be a poser...I want to be myself.
And the stupid school with it's dress code and other rules won't let me. I only speak out when I know no one can hear...and that does nothing.
