People just like me

People just like me

A Poem by Collette Paige

I am not alone

I am not another clone

there are people like me

I wish that THEY could see

that they are not alone

that they are not another clone

There are people everywhere,

people here and people there,

who act and believe what I do

There was once a time when we all flew

like the others in the sky

Now they call us one big lie

I beg to disagree

And wish that maybe they will see

There are people just like me

ah very nice!! the rhyme scheme flows nicely - the idea of people being and people and in doing so being like you - and each other - a collective body - I love the "there was once a time when we all flew" - gives it a bittersweet touch - sad perhaps that it is now gone - but happy that it was there perhaps! nice!
