Divine Plan

Divine Plan

A Poem by Collette Paige

I listen to your story
as you speak about former glory
"oh how it gleamed!" you shout with pure joy
But I know it's a decoy
all you want is to hear MY story
Well, I apologize, but I have never had glory
My life is of normalcy, anger, and hate
I'll have nothing to give, at Heaven's Gate
but my heart my soul
So that, is my measly role
In life's divine plan
Find something great in that, if you can.
